Ashraf Siddiky

Ashraf H. Siddiky is a Barrister, Solicitor, and Notary Public in Nova Scotia. He is having 30 years of legal experience in Bangladesh common law Jurisdiction and academic legal knowledge from Bangladesh, United Kingdom, Canada and USA. Licensed to practice in both Nova Scotia and Bangladesh. He has represented clients at every level of court, from trial courts to the High Court of Supreme Court of Bangladesh, and now Lawyer before Canadian courts and tribunals.

Ashraf’s academic background reflects his international legal training. He studied at Anglia Law School, Cambridge (Anglia Ruskin University, UK), where he completed an LLM in European Legal Studies; at Harvard Law School (Harvard University, USA), where he undertook Professional International Legal Studies; and at the International University of America, London, UK, where he earned a Ph.D. in Shipping Law. He also completed his NCA-accredited law degree at Ottawa University and by NCA exams, Canada, and Postgraduate Bar training through CPLED, Capstone Examinations, Canada. His foundational legal studies began with an LLB from Dhaka University, Bangladesh, alongside also earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Psychology.

Professionally, Ashraf is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association (CILA), the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (Washington, D.C.). In Bangladesh, he has been an Advocate of the Supreme Court since 1996 and a long-standing member of the Dhaka Bar Association since 1993.

Ashraf combines deep courtroom experience with strong skills in negotiation, arbitration, legal drafting, and judicial review. His practice is marked by a global outlook, rigorous legal research, and a commitment to serving diverse clients in both domestic and international contexts.

Ashraf’s practice area includes immigration law, civil litigation, corporate/commercial and property law. His is English and Bengali, with conversational proficiency in Hindi and Urdu.
